About This Data Center
The Catalunya Neutral Internet Exchange Point (CATNIX), was born in 1999 as a result of the Catalan Information Society Strategic Plan ''Catalunya en Xarxa'', a joint initiative of the Catalan Government and Localret with the aim of ''setting the bases and defining the actions for allowing Catalonia to achieve a leader position on that new Information Society''. CATNIX is located at the same place as CESCA, from where the commutation data and transmission services to the connected entities are managed and offered. CESCA also carries out the administrative and technical requirements that all future entities have to fulfill in order to join CATNIX.
